Dr. Johnny Kendrick, Pastor

     Pastor Johnny lives in Bloomingdale, TN. He is married to Jill Hostutler-Kendrick. He received his B.A. in Ministry Degree from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, a Kentucky Baptist College in Pineville, KY. Johnny also received a Master's of Arts in Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA.  Johnny has completed a Doctorate of Ministry degree at Liberty University.

Aaron Noe, Minister to Youth

    Aaron, a native of Gate City, is the son of Charles and Kathie Noe. He has been a member of our church since 1989. Following graduation from Gate City High School in 1999, Aaron attended Virginia Tech for two years then transferred to Mountain Empire Community College where he received a General Studies Degree in 2003. He is currently a Liberty University distance learning student. Aaron announced his call to the ministry on April 1, 2007, and began serving as a volunteer, helping with the children and youth studies and activities. He served as Interim Minister to Youth from August, 2008, until he was called as our full-time Minister to Youth October 1, 2008.

  

 

Eric Hodges, Minister of Music

Eric currently lives in Gray, Tennessee. A native of Southwest Virginia, he holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey, where he also studied choral conducting. As a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, he performed with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

While living in the Tri-Cities area, he has performed with musical ensembles such as the King College Collegium Musicum, King College Symphonic Choir, Brevard Music Center Opera, the Milligan College Chamber Singers, the ETSU Opera Theater, and the Voices of the Mountains. He is also active as a vocal soloist, appearing in local programs of various types.

In addition to serving as Minister of Music and Worship at First Baptist, Eric is active as a voice teacher, and a composer and arranger. He has written original music and arrangements for use in worship here at First Baptist, as well as for other occasions. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the American Composers Forum.

Anita Greer, Minister to Children

     Anita Kilbourne-Greer lives in Gray, TN. She is married to John and they have two children. Anita received a B.A. in Communication from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN. She also received a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Counseling from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Jerry L. Hall, Part-time Minister of Education

     Jerry lives in the Rock Springs area of Kingsport, TN. He and his wife Shirley have been married for forty-five years. They have two children, David and wife Renee, and Amy and husband Andy. Jerry and Shirley have six grandchildren. Jerry answered God's call to the Gospel ministry in 1977. He was licensed and ordained by Reservoir Road Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN. He has pastored churches in Tennessee and Virginia. Jerry also served as the Director of Missions for the Clinch Valley Baptist Association, Gate City, VA. Jerry has been doing pulpit and vacation supply for area pastors since retiring as the Director of Missions.
